Eliezer's Struggle to Maintain Faith in a Benevolent God

This picture represents the theme because like Elie, this man seems as though he is losing his faith in God too.  At first Elie may have been loyal to his God, but he soon starts to give up.

To me, the theme of Eliezer's struggle with his faith changes throughout the story.  In the beginning he could not imagine his life without God, which could have been the same situation for the man in the picture.  They both might have had strong faith in God, but something has happened to them both that made them weak and caused a struggle.  This theme shows me that different things happened to Elie and he gradually loses his faith.
